Relaxed openings
RELAXED MORNINGS
Join us at the Science Museum away from the hustle and bustle of regular opening hours and enjoy a little calm during our Relaxed Mornings.
These sessions are designed for families with a neurodivergent parent or child, including those with autism and sensory processing requirements, who will benefit from a quieter museum.
The session is completely free to attend and doors will open at 08.30. The museum will be running a handful of family events across the museum for visitors to engage with. There is also the option of booking a free early entry to Wonderlab at 08.45–09.00 and 10.00–11.00.
Sessions will run with a reduced capacity exclusive to Relaxed Morning visitors and wherever possible we will lower volume levels on exhibits, all to create a more relaxed environment.
There will be quiet spaces available for those who may need it.

One of my kids favorites. Like the other museums nearby, if you're coming here on a holiday or weekend, come early. There is a soft play area with cafe on the bottom floor for your youngest kids, but it does get quite busy. For grown ups, you can have a date night on their museum late night event which happens monthly the last Wednesday evening of the month, with tons of events, free entry, bars and silent discos.

Our favourite museum in London - there's so much to do. The Basement is great for little ones, and the 2nd Floor is amazingly interactive for older children - they can learn about genetics etc by playing games on big screens. Great fun and all free, with a picnic area in the basement where you can bring your own food.

We went to the Science museum yesterday and it was fantastic. Must have spent just under 5 hours there. Have a look at their website and it tells you on there where to go in the museum for your different childs ages so that when you get there you can go directly to that floor and have a fantastic time. they also have a show in one of the theatres all to do with bubbles. really worth a visit.

My five year old loves the Science Museum. The Hands On section has been enlarged and moved out of the basement. Many more fun, interactive and educational exhibits. Good cafes, if a little expensive. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
