The beauty products you need to look after your skin and hair throughout pregnancy
Once you become pregnant, you might have to think about using different skin and hair care products.
Your body goes through so many changes during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester when changing hormones play havoc with your skin and hair.
And warning – every person experiences it differently. Some may find their pregnancy enhances their skin tone, but for some you might become more prone to breakouts!
Fast forward to mid-pregnancy when the hormones balance out a bit and the compliments on your (hopefully) healthy glow start to roll in.
But there are products that can help you along the way.
You might also need a little help after pregnancy too, as hair loss, stretch marks and reduced skin elasticity affect the majority of new mums, so finding the right product to help can be quite simply a lifesaver.
Here's our pick of some of the best pregnancy products
...to help you look and feel your best, starting with the popular and clinically proven Bio Oil, a godsend for scars and stretch marks, which is on sale for less than a tenner right now on Amazon...

Cocoon of Bliss Stretch Mark Butter 150ml
£28
* Helps to prevent stretch mark formation
* Encourages the skin to bounce back easily
* Organic
We just love the name, but also what this product does – and that's help mums-to-be feel confident about their growing bits as they go through the adventure of pregnancy.
Stretch marks are nothing to be ashamed of, of course, but if you do want to keep your skin elasticated and hydrated as you grow your bump, this rich cream glides on and will become a nice ritual between you and your baby.
The product suggests applying daily, but so far we've found using it every 2-3 days works equally well, which is ideal for those with sensitive skin.
Don't forget to add it to your hips and breasts as well as your tummy. Not many people talk about hip stretch marks, but they're a thing!
And it's good for the whole family too, according to one shopper who reviewed it online. She penned: 'This is by far the best cream I have ever used for dry skin especially in winter. Our whole family is using it. Rich, gentle to sensitive skin, it restores dry skin within just a couple of days. Truly amazing!'
3. Garnier Micellar Water Facial Cleanser
£2.82
* Gently removes makeup without irritating delicate pregnancy skin
* Pack of 3 so you can buy now and not have to worry about running out
* No rinsing required, making life that bit easier for busy mums and mums-to-be!
Gently but thoroughly removes even the toughest waterproof makeup. This micellar water helps to regulate sebum protection and prevents blemishes, which is great for temperamental skin during pregnancy. It won't irritate your eyes or face and is so much quicker than going through a full cleansing routine – so important when you're trying to balance caring for a newborn with looking after yourself!
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Cream

* Keeps skin soft and supple while smoothing and healing stretch marks
* Great for preventing itchy skin over your bump
Do you suffer from irritated, dry skin during pregnancy? This daily skin therapy cocoa butter formula by Palmer's moistens and softens skin while helping the appearance of stretch marks, scars and uneven skin tone. It's infused with vitamin E and cocoa butter, ideal for overnight deep moisturising, plus it leaves your skin smelling delicious, too!
