I took my 10 month old there on Saturday as I've heard so much about it and it's only up the road. It was a great day out they had lots of animals to see and for a farm I didn't expect to see meerkats and wallabies so that was an added bonus :) there was even a few rides my son could enjoy. My only moan about this place is the price. Ok so it's £15 per person which maybe to some isn't a lot (depending on how many people are going!) I just don't think it was worth paying £15 per person plus if you wanted to feed the animals it was an additional £1 which after paying £15 at least one bag of food per person should be included with the option of buying extra. You have to enter and exit through the gift shop which I thought was really over priced too so I'm glad my son isn't old enough to tell me he wants this and wants that! I would go again because it was a good day out but only if there was an offer on as I think it was pricey to get in.

Although it's a tad pricey, the farm itself is brilliant! So much to do for the kids. Wowcher and grouping often do vouchers, so worth getting for a fun filled day for the family!

I admit I have visited here before but everytime it thrills me. First, there are loads of animals with llamas, alpacas, (never knew one from the other before) donkeys, horses from giant to tiny, reindeer, red deer, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, meerkats in a great new enclosure and the friskiest otters who are doing things that would have been hard to explain to the children but I just said they were happy (which they were) So how anyone can claim there are no animals is beyond me! Tell you what, if you visit Old Macdonald's your kids will have the best time ever, and therefore so will you.

I can honestly say this place should not be open to public it's a joke & the amount per adult ha ha it's laughable £13.50 all we saw was goats more goats & chickens no staff to attend any of the rides so they were closed & the place looks worn & old I will NEVER take my daughter back there again the poor animals look thin & un looked after I'd rather go van hages & pets corner Harlow free! & a much better day out I have sent an email to the email address above & never had a reply back

We went today for my sons first birthday after hearing great things about this place i was looking forward to going but to be honest I almost left in tears after about an hour and half, I was so disapointed and bored. It was a chilly day but still bright not a huge amount of animals to see, none of the rides were open apart from two which you had to pay extra for and you had to pay extra for the animal food too. The indoor play centre was chilly and grubby the floor protection mats were hard and dirty. The cafe was ok but has a minimum card spend forcing us to buy extras, the highchair was also dirty and needing the loo we had to go back out in the cold as they are actually in the park not attached to the main centre. It was very over priced for an hours visit and the website definatly made it look better than it is. I wouldn't recommend taking little children and we won't be going back after today. What was meant to be a birthday treat turned into a birthday flop.

Went again yesterday and have to say the place is even better than before, maybe because the kids are a bit older and because the weather was good, but well worth a visit if you like animals and if the children want to go on, time after time, super roller coaster and lots of rides. Loved the Pony Ride (mechanical not real ponies...no worries) which was new. Went on that myself. Never too old for a laugh.

We went there with our 22 month old daughter and had a fantastic time. There's so much to explore! The rides were great too. We left after 3 hours and I must confess I was exhausted by then. I cannot comment on the food because we took our own but there's plenty spaces for picnics if that's what bothers you. We will be going back.

have spent a lovely day at old macdonalds farm today with my 2 children aged 6 & 9. after hearing some fairly negative reports, i have to say, i was pleasantly surprised! we chose not to take a picnic as we weren't confident about the weather so we ate in the cafe. the adults had jacket potatoes with tuna which were enormous and very tasty! at £3.60 i thought they were reasonably priced. the childrens cold lunchbox looked quite overpriced at £3 but the hot meals at the same were excellent value. not the greatest range, burgers, sausage, nuggets all with chips but no complaints and clean plates from the kids! we paid full admission prices and the total for 2 adults & 2 children was £44 which i didnt think was too bad. we were there for 6 hours so uquite good value. its £46 for family ticket which is 2 adults & 3 children which i thought was good value. i think another toilet block would not go amiss as when we visited the toilets before we left there was no paper left for drying hands! the only extras we found once inside were the coin operated arcade type games/machines. had we taken a picnic, there was a lot of places to sit and eat. not as many animals as i would have thought for a farm! but loads to do. more like a giant play park with a few animals thrown in! my kids had a fantastic time. having put off taking them for years as i had heard lots of bad things about it, i will definitely go again.

We only went there once, and won't be going back. It just felt like they were trying to squeeze as much money as they could out of us, whilst giving us very little in return. Barleylands is much more civilized.

I recently visited with my four year old and found it to be over priced and the staff were very unfriendly. It would be nice to see more emphasis on the animals. Tropical wings beats this hands down as does Barleylands I think.

I went last week and only reason I went was because after 3 oclock you get in for £5 each, i couldnt afford the £41 that it would have cost me but £20 was slightly easier on the pocket, have to say i wasnt that impressed with it,yes it has a few rides but there arnt many animals,i much prefer tropical wings where i went the next day cost me £20 for all day.

Hadn't been back to the farm in a few years and was really suprised how good it was. My children had loads of fun playing in the sand area and then on the bouncy slide, helter skelter, trampolines, indoor play area and merry go round.lovely day

Lovely day out if a bit pricey for what it is. Only had one complaint even if it is a major one. This place is filthy! The toilets are disgusting, fair enough it was nearly the end of the day but toilets should be cleaned regularly. The cafe highchairs were also really disgusting , so much so I sat my little girl on the table, which to be fair wasn't much better. My 5 year old had a lovely day out however next time I'll bring my own food and find a grassy area outside to sit on.

This is a fantastic place to visit. It's sometimes difficult to find somewhere to visit with 3 children of varied ages 15,10 and 2, But we all got something out of our recent visit. Definitely one to do again!

I have been here a couple of times and I think it is overpriced, last time I went with my 3 year old it was £17 for us to get in. The food in the cafe was awful and we had to queue for over half an hour to order it. The animals are lovely but it is a shame there are so many 'extras' all the way round the farm, like bouncy castles and play areas

Me and my oh took our boys here last autumn and had a lovely day out! There was lots of space for them to run around and just so much to do! Once you're inside most of the attractions are included in the price so I think it's quite reasonable. The only complaint was how long it took for our meal to be ready in the cafe but we didn't starve did we?! We will definately be taking them back in the summer holidays!

We went to this farm yesterday and had a great time despite the rain as there is lots to do indoors as well as out. We loved the animals, what a variety as well as farm animals, the kids loved the rides and play areas. Super value, recommend it to everyone.

Excellent day out. It caters for the very young and older children. Once you have seen the animals you can move onto the rides or the play areas which are included in the price. You can buy animal feed at the entrance for 50p and the kids loved doing this! The eating areas are expensive but you can bring your own food.Well worth a visit.

Hi, I visited Old Macdonalds farm for the first time during the holidays, and have to say I was shocked at how expensive it was, luckily I had a free ticket otherwise it probably would have been a bit too much. My 3 year old son, however absolutely loved it, and although I won't be visiting regularly because of the price I will go back again for him. I do not recommend eating there, it is absolutely disgusting and doesn't look like it is ever cleaned, and the food is revolting so a picnic is definately required. I also have to say to really keep an eye on your children as the staff have no clue or care about them and it can be dangerous especially on some of the high things they have there. Don't get me wrong it is brilliant fun for the kids but just be careful, and please don't let your children go up the snake ladder if your child is scared of heights as they are unable to get down as it is very steep and narrow!

Hi, I have visted Old Macdonalds Farm , several times in the last year, and have enjoyed it very much, my daughter loves feeding the pigs and deers, and loves going on the play areas too. However it can be expensive, so we decided to make a day of it on Saturday, and decided to have lunch at the farm in the cafe area. This was a big mistake, as the sandwhiches were not fresh, the kids meals were everything with chips, but the real issue was the hygiene, there were flies everywhere, and the tables inside the cafe were utter filth. The tables are log effect, with wholes and cracks, which hold everyones crumbs and leftovers for what look liked the last month! IF we go again, we will be going in the summer and taking our own food/picnic!! Do not take a risk and eat there, until health and safety have visted!
