Lincoln is the county town of Lincolnshire, in the East Midlands. Once ruled by Vikings, it was then invaded by the Normans under William the Conqueror, who ordered the building of Lincoln Castle and Cathedral.

For over 200 years, Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the world, and it’s still the city’s best-known landmark.
