Broccoli puree for babies

Introduce tiny tastebuds to nutritious broccoli with this easy homemade puree

  • 1 head of broccoli or 250g frozen broccoli florets

  1. Trim the end of the broccoli stalk. Chop the rest of the broccoli (stalk and florets) into small chunks.

  2. Boil or steam the broccoli for 8-10 minutes, or until tender.

  3. Puree in the blender along with 1-2tbsp of the cooking water, to your desired consistency.

  4. Leave until cool enough to serve to baby. Stir in a little of baby's usual milk if desired.

  5. Once completely cool, divide the rest of the puree up in an ice cube tray. Freeze for up to 1 month. Defrost, covered, in the fridge overnight or in the microwave. Once defrosted, reheat to piping, then allow to cool before giving to baby.
