Apple fritters

A deliciously simple recipe, which is great for using up leftover apples...

  • 150g plain flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 eggs

  • 125ml milk

  • 2 apples, chopped

  1. Mix the dry ingredients together

  2. Beat the eggs and milk together in a jug and pour onto the dry ingredients

  3. When you have a smooth batter, add the chopped apples

  4. Drop 1 tablespoon of mixture at a time into hot oil

  5. Fry until golden brown

  6. Drain and serve

  7. Sprinkle with sugar or maple syrup

You will need

Tips

When the fritters are cooked and drained, place on kitchen towel to absorb some of the excess oil
