How to make a no sew tail for an animal costume
1. Where to start
First take a long sock or pair of tights and cut to the size you want your tail to be.
2. Stuff it
Stuff the sock with cotton wool or tissue paper.
3. Add a tassel
To make a tassel, cut another strip from the sock and then cut it to make lots of thin strips. Then fix it to the end of the sock with a safety pin.
You can also stitch it in place if you find that easier.
4. Fix it on
Lastly, take another safety pin to fix your tail on to your animal costume.
You'll need:
- socks or tights
- cotton wool
- scissors
- wool
- safety pins
You can use this method to make any sort of animal tail.
Just change the colours and socks or tights that you use for different animals.
For instance, try using animal print tights for big cats, green tights with yellow felt dots for a dinosaur, grey socks for a donkey ...
