Life is stressful for families caring for a seriously ill child. And it can be even harder when their child needs to spend time away from home for treatment.
But there is help available … and you can show your support too, all while doing your family shop.
Fairy Non Bio has partnered with Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) to help provide support for seriously ill children and their families.
Fairy wants to make sure every child is wrapped in kindness and support, even when they can't be in their own bed. And that’s why they are supporting GOSH Charity, who support seriously ill children and their families from across the UK who need it most.
Here's how you can get involved.
How can I support families of seriously ill children?
For every pack of Fairy Non Bio Detergent, Fairy Fabric Softener or Fairy In-Wash Scent Boosters you buy in Home Bargains between 30 October 2023 and 31 March 2024, Fairy will make a 5p donation to GOSH Charity* to support seriously ill children and their families from across the UK.
They’ve pledged a minimum donation of £100,000 to the charity, and the money will help fund services such as free family accommodation near the hospital.
*Fairy will donate 5p to Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (Registered charity no. 1160024) for every pack of Fairy Non Bio Detergent, Fairy Fabric Softener or Fairy In-Wash Scent Boosters purchased in Home Bargains between 30/10/23-31/03/24, with a minimum donation of £100,000
Easing the burden on parents
Situated just moments from the hospital, GOSH Charity funds free accommodation for families to stay in when their child is receiving life-changing care at the hospital, allowing their parents to stay close by.
Around half of the children treated at GOSH come from outside of London. Being able to stay close to their child free of charge while they're being treated helps ease the stress during what is often a challenging and daunting time.
For those times when families can’t be at home, the accommodation is designed to be as comforting as possible. There are kitchens where families can cook and eat together, along with areas to relax.
This helps ease the burden on parents, all while supporting children and young people as they go through their treatment.
