How to secure your kids' World Book Day costume for a FIVER

World Book Day is fast approaching – avoid last-minute scrambles and pick up a cheap costume from your local supermarket
While some parents spend days, planning, creating and detailing the perfect World Book Day costume for their children, others have the mentality of 'look in the dressing up box and see what we find' on the morning of the big day.
But this year, some parents have pointed out how to get a great costume with minimal spend and even smaller effort so the last minute panic can be saved for another year.
Speaking in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group, parents have shared their best finds, from Willy Wonka to Peter Pan – and all for under a tenner.

'Get in there quick'
Ahead of World Book Day on Thursday, 7 March, mum, Becca shared to the Facebook group: 'World book day costumes in Tesco 25% off at the moment.'
In the picture added to the post, there's a huge range of costumes such as Fantastic Mr Fox, Cat in the Hat and Tinkerbell, among others.
These all vary in price, with Willy Wonka pricing at just £7.50.
The post is flooded with comments tagging their friends and gushing over the different options.
Replies included: 'I need to go to Tesco!!' and 'get in there quick'.
Another parent expressed: 'oh I forgot about world book day.'
Along with a second that read: 'stupid world book day.'
'Good value and less hassle'
Another mum pointed out her own bargain, spotting a Horrid Henry top from TK Maxx.
'Well, i think World Book Day will be upon us soon and pairing this with a pair of your child’s jeans is probably a good value and less hassle idea,' she said.
'Matalan in store only'
Another mum found Matalan was the best option with costumes discounted to a fiver.
'Matalan in store only!' her post read.
This included Harry Potter and Elsa costumes down from £17.50.
Further costumes in the store boasted of 20% off.
Matalan stated these options were only available until stocks last.
