How to do marble painting

Marble painting is such a fun activity for kids of all ages. Here are the step by step instructions to make lovely textured marbled paintings.

Place a sheet of card or paper in a shallow tray. We used the lid of a shoebox, which works perfectly.Then squirt in some paint, using a mix of different colours.

Place lots of marbles at one end of the tray.

Now comes the fun bit. Tip the tray gently so the marbles roll across the paint in all directions. They will swirl the paint around, marbling the colours as they roll.

You get some lovely textured marbled paintings as a result and this is such fun to do.

Your children might like to try this painting activity with different objects - perhaps they could roll golf balls or even conkers?
