Brrrr, winter is well and truly here. But as we all try and save money on our energy bills, finding ways to stay warm can be tricky. From hot water bottles on our laps to wearing thermals, we're trying them all.
One thing we LOVE the sound of is a heated throw. This is an update of the ever-popular electric blanket that you can use around the house. You can get heated hoodies too (keep reading for all the details).
What is a heated throw or blanket?
A heated throw is a smaller version of an electric blanket. It is designed to be worn on you, as you cuddle up with the kids or while you’re working from home. The cost to run them is fairly low, so it works out cheaper than turning your heating up.
The heat is directly targeted on your body, so you can keep nice and toasty even in a cool room. They work almost instantly too, so you don’t have to wait for the room to warm up – perfect when you get home after a cold day out.
Most models have a built-in temperature control, so you can turn it up or down, plus a timer, so that you don’t have it on for too long.
While an electric blanket usually sits beneath your sheet on the bed’s mattress, heated throws and blankets are designed to be placed on top of you, like a blanket.
