Gemma Atkinson reveals name she actually wanted for baby – but Gorka was NOT a fan

Gemma Atkinson has revealed that she initially wanted another name for her newborn son Thiago, but the name she picked out was one that fiancé Gorka Marquez hated.
Gemma, 38, and Spanish Stricly pro Gorka, 33, welcomed their second child in July. A baby boy who they called Thiago Thomas Marquez.
But radio presenter and mum-of-2, Gemma, said there were actually 2 other names in the running.

'Gorka’s mum chose the name'
Speaking on her new podcast, The Overshare, Gemma revealed how they'd eventually settled on a name.
'I liked Raphael and I loved Thomas, but Gorka didn’t like Thomas,' Gemma explained.
'In Spain its "Tomás" and he said Tommy Márquez sounds like he’d beat you up.'
She said that the name they eventually chose was Portuguese in heritage and that Gorka's mum had chosen it, Gemma added:
'And then his mum said, "Thiago", and it’s a Portuguese name – his mum is Portuguese. My dad’s middle name was Thomas, so we had Thiago Thomas Márquez and he gets Teo.'
'He thrusts his hips from across the room and I'm pregnant'
As well as Thiago, Gemma and Gorka are also parents to 4-year-old daughter Mia, who they've said is like a 'mother hen' to her little brother.
Gemma previously told fans that Thiago would be her last child, admitting that '2 is the magic number' for her and Gorka.
Telling fans on Fleur East's Hits Radio Breakfast Show, Gemma said:
'Two is the magic number in our house. I'm not going anywhere near him [Gorka] again.'
'I don't dare – he thrusts his hips from across the room and I'm pregnant so no more!'
'Our family is complete'
Gemma and Gorka welcomed baby Thiago in July.
At the time, Gemma told fans that 'little man is here' via her Instagram Stories, before the couple shared a photo of their baby son, alongside the caption:

'Our family is complete 🥹'
'It feels like he's always been here'
Gemma explained the meaning behind the name on her Instagram Stories, writing:
'Thiago is originally a Portugese name (Gorka's mum is from Portugal).
'And Thomas was my dad's name so there's the mix of the two.
'Tio is thriving and it feels like he's always been here. Mia is obsessed!
'Thank you everyone for the lovely messages we feel extremely lucky.'
