I’m not sure what I’m looking for coming here but I just don’t know what to do for the best. My DH of 15 yrs both in our 50’s often gets really unreasonable as he did this evening. He is feeling hard done by as I’ve taken on a new job role and he has had to pick up a lot of the things that I’ve always done. Also I have a chronic condition which sometimes leaves me bed bound for the day. I know he is resentful and he says nasty things and throws in comments about him paying all the bills and mortgage. I worked from home all day and give him his due he had a busy day doing jobs for us around the home. He started to get nasty, saying what have you done today? He told my daughter I couldn’t give her and her friends a lift out this evening that was pre-arranged as I hadn’t done anything for him today. He said we should go separate ways and I could move to my parents while daughter and friends were waiting in hallway for me to give them a lift. He told me I couldn’t take them and hid the car key from me saying it’s not my car (as he paid for it) then told daughter to make her own way out it was embarrassing for us all. I can’t bear the outbursts they happen regularly but in between things are fine and we have a lovely home and friendship circle that I would lose and miss if we did part but I feel warn down with having to defend myself constantly and hate that my daughter hears these outbursts and nastiness she 19 and I feel sad as my Father was a kind supportive man I could always depend on and I feel everything is on his terms even though he can be fun and kind too.
