My little one is a little over 7 months and since a couple weeks after he was born ice not felt right I can't eat or drink certain things anymore my stomach hurts all the time I also didn't have a six week postpartum check and today I was flooded with anxiety stomach pain and a sick feeling and had to use the restroom when I was about to leave the house I ended up not going because it was so overwhelming but as soon as I put my pyjamas on the anxiety left the sick feeling and stomach pain dulled down so now I'm wondering is it all connected could it be the pop pill could I be developing agoraphobia (my older sibling has it) or is it because im ill I'm so confused

Hi Peach,

I'm Loraine, one of the Netmums' Parent Supporters.

Thank you for posting your circumstances so honestly on here and well done for reaching out for support.

From what you've said, it sounds like you've been suffering with anxiety since your baby was born and as you may know, anxiety can manifest itself through physical symptoms.

However, only a medical professional could make that diagnosis and it's really important that you rule out any other medical condition. Could you make an appointment with your GP this week Peach and discuss exactly what you've told us here?

You may find it helpful to have a look through this link to the MIND website about perinatal anxiety to see if you can relate to any of the symptoms before chatting with your GP: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/postnatal-depression-and-perinatal-mental-health/perinatal-anxiety/

You've taken the first step by writing to us here Peach, so come back and let us know how things are and what advice you've been given and we'll try to support you in any way we can.

Loraine x
