Just curious.
Do your kids play outside with friends? I never see any kids out playing these days and just wondered if it’s just not the done thing now?
We’ve also had a few play dates with school friends but it’s not often (in fairness I don’t instigate a lot of them). Is this normal?
My kids do three different activities each week so it’s not like they don’t mix with other kids so it’s not a huge issue I suppose.
Is it just me? Please tell me this is normal?
Full disclosure, I suffer from anxiety lol
I never see any kids playout anymore, apart from the a few at the park and the grass at the bottom of the street. We used to be able to play in the street but now the cars are parked bumper to bumper and the street is busy as well.
Think yourself lucky, the only ones that "play out" near me are the ones booting doors as hard as they can, damaging cars, and generally being a nuisance.
Hey there. I am in the opposite position, we live in a no through road and my daughter plus about 5 or 6 other children play outside all the time, more when its not raining/ stormy weather.
Us parents congregate out there too in the summer and even those neighbours without children come out to join us. I absoloutley love it. They play on their bikes, football, have picnics, play games, all sorts. Hearing their laughs is amazing. They are all of different ages, look out for the young ones. If a vehicle enters the road, they shout 'car!' And all step to the side whilst it goes through.
I realise we are lucky and i am so glad they are out, not stuck on screens and being sociable, just innocently enjoying themselves

My kids were the same. Lighter nights and better weather they were out playing, in gardens or playing with neighbours kids. Best thing for them.
I live on a council estate and in the summer, kids are out all the time xx
No I have 12,6 and 5 year old. 2 youngest are 2 young and eldest has only just started hanging out with friends going shops etc nobody plays out and I wouldn't let me kids play out even when bigger unless I can see them on the front x
