The official advice on eating Wensleydale cheese in pregnancy

Good news! Wensleydale is safe to eat in pregnancy. This includes blue Wensleydale, smoked Wensleydale, and Wensleydale containing fruits and herbs.

Wensleydale is classed as a hard cheese and the NHS says that all hard cheeses are safe to eat when you're pregnant. This is because hard cheese contains less water than soft cheese, so bacteria are less likely to grow.
