Homemade quiche

Homemade quiche - whether you make it yourself or have it in a restaurant - is safe to eat if it's been made with British Lion eggs. These have been vaccinated against salmonella and are safe to eat raw, runny or partially cooked during pregnancy.

Homemade quiche made with non-British Lion eggs is only safe to eat if it's thoroughly cooked. Raw or partially cooked eggs that don't have a British Lion stamp carry a risk of salmonella, which can cause food poisoning. You're more susceptible to food poisoning while you're pregnant. While it's unlikely to harm your baby, it can be very unpleasant.
