The official advice on eating liver in pregnancy
Unfortunately, liver is not safe to eat in pregnancy. You should avoid liver and all liver products, including liver sausage, liver pâté and cod liver oil, when you're pregnant.
This is because liver and liver products contain a high amount of vitamin A. Too much vitamin A can be harmful to your unborn baby.
The NHS says you should also avoid high-dose multivitamin supplements or other supplements containing vitamin A.
