You should be cautious with energy drinks when pregnant as they contain high levels of caffeine. High-caffeine energy drinks will state on the label that they are not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
When you're pregnant, the NHS says you should limit the amount of caffeine you drink to around 200mg a day. Higher levels of caffeine can lead to low birthweight and have also been linked to miscarriage.
Smaller cans of energy drink can contain up to 80mg of caffeine and large cans up to 160mg.
