  • not babbling did cooing at 4/5 months now stopped some days hardly makes a noise  just making grunting noises and shouting now and then when hungry or frustrated. Has never blew a raspberry
  • so smiley but doesn’t really laugh unless getting tickled
  • gas problems with passing wind
  • grunts scream in sleep does this 3/4 times during the night
  • does a repetitive arm movement looking at her left hand / fingers
  • arches back when holding her doesn’t like to be cuddled to sleep anymore but likes being help upright
  • shes good eye contact but doesn’t like looking at your eyes really close up or when picked up and held
  • grabbing leg and brings it in and out alot
  • fussy with trying foods won’t swallow most of it and gags at certain things
  • doesn’t cry much just grunts moans when wanting something hardly cry’s
  • loves looking at lights and lampshades
  • not rolling from back to tummy only tummy to back
  • doesn’t cry when weakening up will happy lie there
  • itching eyes all time
  • she’s scratching my chest when feeding and all different fabrics like pillows throws etc

i feel an observing everything and it’s not healthy at all any info guidance would be great shes my first baby so finding it hard what’s right and google is the worst place to look worried myself on there

Hello Laura

You should be able to read our reply here on your thread. Please let us know if you can see this OK :)

All children are different, and develop at their own rates. You have described your LO really well, so it does give us a much better understanding of what you are worried about. Thank you for this.

From what you have told me, nothing is standing out as being concerning. Often little ones do have behaviours that get your attention, but these are all very normal phases of child development as they get to know their own bodies.

This link below is a great interactive time line that you can use as a guide to see what children can do at approximate ages.:

In most areas your HV team will offer a 12 month developmental review. This gives you protected time to talk through your child's progress and discuss any worries that you may have. Normally this is arranged for you, but if you wanted to ask for support sooner, you could give them a call and ask for their help.

If you are worried and feeling anxious Laura, then it maybe a good idea to let them know. They are there to look after you too :)

Best wishes

Tracey HV

Laura,

Your health visitor will help you if you share your concerns surely, or even the doctor.
