Things to do with kids in Belfast and Northern Ireland

Belfast is Northern Ireland’s capital city, set on the banks of the River Lagan on the country’s East Coast.

A historic port, it was the birthplace of the Titanic, and the city now boasts the world’s biggest Titanic visitor experience, Titanic Belfast: a must-see if you’re in town with the family.

The city suffered greatly during the Troubles, but is now considered one of the safest cities in the UK. There are loads of things to do with kids in Belfast and Northern Ireland, from regular baby activities to fun-packed family days out, venues for children's parties, and car boot sales where you can snap up a bargain.

If your child is into history, don’t miss Ulster Museum, which explores what life was like for the people of Northern Ireland in the past, and the Crumlin Road Gaol, where you can experience how it felt to be a prisoner there. Budding scientists will love W5, a hands-on science museum that’s packed with interactive exhibits.

There are also plenty of opportunities to get out and about, from visiting the Botanic Gardens to discovering the coastline that provided the setting for Game of Thrones.
