Child maintenance

Hi advice please . My ex husband pays maintenance for our two children and this month he has paid less than half the amount he normally pays . After asking him why ? He says that he’s been on holiday ( not with my children ) so has reduced his payment this month ! Can he do this ?

If it's an informal agreement he can do whatever he wants really at any point.
You need to gauge whether you'd get more via the cms government system taking into account how reliable he was to date.
You can ask them to take payment directly from him, it will cost him 20% of what he pays on top of his maintenance and you 4 % of what you get.
This will enable you to get exactly what your due and should wipe the smile off his smug face.
