My partner of 8 years knows he has bad hygiene and won't doing anything about it .It really gives me the ick and puts me off him as I'm a very clean person .His breath stinks and he has issues with his teeth , he sometimes smells of BO and is constantly farting which I hate .He works the early shift so when he comes in from work he won't shower again until the next morning which I hate as he's getting into bed sweaty , but he says because he had a shower early morning before work it's fine .He also only brushes his teeth in the morning and won't in the evening .This means in bed his breath stinks and I can't stand facing the same way as him .I've mentioned it all to him but he doesn't care. It's not depression, it's just laziness.Hes a very lazy person and just doesn't care .We barely have sex now as I'm so put off .
What can I do ? Just keep being put off until the point I leave ? I guess if he doesn't want to change then he doesn't care .
Have u told him he smells and he's putting you off ? Because you should do I'd feel the exact same
Apart form anything else, it's downright disrespectful! I would make it clear to him that if he doesn't change his hygiene habits then there's no point in carrying on. Ultimately it's up to you of course!
Same issue in our house he can take a shower in less than 2 min hoe's training or work the smell doesn't bother him and get huffy if I tell him so and bad breath is a nightmare iv told him so many times I'm now all out of love tbh nothing I can say will make a difference so I put a pillow between us at night offer my cheek for a goodbuy kiss and open the window when he's home I'm gonna see what other say on the matter xx
He sounds utterly revolting. You've mentioned it all to him and he doesn't care. So clearly he has no respect for you or himself. I would not be willing to put up with this.
If I were you, I would leave or get him to leave.
Is this the same partner who you've complained about in previous posts? The partner you said was drinking, taking cocaine, threatening you, financially abusing you, not helping with the kids or household jobs etc etc.
If so, it really is a no-brainer.
I’m a little confused, so as I read it your partner works full time & showers every morning but doesn’t want to shower again after work? That doesn’t sound lazy to me & I would feel showering twice every day is slightly ott tbf. If he is still having problems with excessive sweating and/or body odour I would suggest exploring specialist deodorants etc or perhaps a GP appt.

It would depend on what job he has! If working in a nice clean office or sitting at a desk at home, one shower is likely fine. If working in a dirty environment eg. a building site or doing a very physical job, I can see why she'd want him to wash properly later.
Constantly breaking wind and not brushing his teeth is disrespectful and plain grim. It takes 2 minutes to brush your teeth. Not to do so, especially when you've been told your breath smells, is pretty lazy.
