Can anyone help me how to deal with child’s tics ? My son has tics from the age of 4 . Now he is 7 and half . Tics come and go ! I have seen a wide variety of tics . Head wobbling and Body twitch being the worst . I saw Neurologist and he said to ignore and might outgrow once he is in puberty . It’s so heart breaking to watch him tic and I’m mentally at my worst seeing this for last 3 and half years . I don’t meet anyone even family members . I don’t want him to be treated badly or have an impression that he has some sort of issue . I try to hide him for a better future . Moms please help me … Will he outgrow his tics ? Has anyone dealt with this

Hi Antony

I’m Lauren one of the parent supporters here on Netmums. It can be difficult watching your little one with tics. Often children do grow out of them but they can change, develop or stay too. Does he have any other additional needs like autism?

Is he distressed by the tics at all?

I wonder would you find it helpful to get some support from Young Minds.https://www.youngminds.org.uk/ It sounds like it is difficult for you to see him with the tics.

Hopefully some other members will come by and share their experiences

Hello,

Thank you very much for the reply .

Hes not autistic .

He is aware that he is doing tics . I don’t know what to tell him . I completely ignore tics .
