Hydronephrosis

Hi
My first pregnancy I had Hydronephrosis just wondering if anyone has had it and got caught pregnant again and it’s come back?
If so did it get any worse? Really worried as I was constantly in hospital last time and worried it will happen again.

Hi Courtney, it's Sarah the Netmums Midwife here. I'm really sorry to learn you had such a hard time during your last pregnancy with hydronephrosis.
Although it's quite a common condition in pregnancy it's unusual for it to require hospitalisation so I would imagine if (or when!) you have another baby you will be referred to an obstetrician for review and have a plan of care put in place. This might involve taking antibiotics, kidney scans or even a referral to a renal specialist.
