I am thinking of getting my 13 YO SD a tie dye set for christmas and some things to dye. I was thinking of a t-shirt, vest, tote bag and bedding. Any ideas? Also i thought a hoody was a good idea too but it's 70% cotton and 30% polyester. Would that dye ok? What sort of mix of materials dye best?
Thanks

Having done a couple of sessions of tie dye with groups of kids this summer I'd say you really want as much cotton as possible. The 100% cotton t shirts came out really strong colours.
We did some pillowcases which were about 60% cotton and although they looked OK at first they are quite pale after only a couple of washes.
I found 100% cotton leggings on Amazon, though I haven't dyed them yet they look decent quality.
Home page | The Clever Baggers is has a range of bags, cushion covers and so on. I've dyed a couple of shopping bags which are OK. Not as bold colours as the t shirts but I think its because the dyes were getting old. You have about half an hour or so to use the dye after mixing it up, after that the colours don't take quite so well.
We've been using the tulip kits from Amazon.
