Have a ok-ish relationship with my in-laws but because I’m not round theirs every week they seem to have taken offense. My DH goes there every Sunday but I am busy weekends (I work Monday/Friday full time hours) Saturdays is spent food shopping/tidying up/laundry & Sundays we take the dog training class and by the time we are home around 2pm I’m sorting dinner out/relaxing. I explained to them a few times that Saturdays/Sundays are busy days for me and by mid afternoon Sunday I just want to relax but they keep getting offended. I see them once/twice a month max & speak to them most nights but can’t commit to more than that. AIBU to think they are being unreasonable on their demands to see me every week or AIBU for not going there every week

That sounds a bit ott nice they want to see you but it's not your priority as not your parents. You see them as and when you can. I see my own parents weekly in law I see her like every few months and I avoid it at that too and we have 3 kids. She doesn't ask us round and causes trouble

You see your in laws more than I see mine. My wife sees her parents a couple of times a month, and speaks to her mum on the phone once a week.

I see them about once a month.

I'd be asking why it's so important to them to speak to you and see you so often. To me it sounds like they want an excuse to take offense.

How often do you see your own parents? And how often does your husband see your parents?

You speak to your in-laws most evenings? Why?

I get on very well with my MIL but I only speak to her a couple of times a month. We are both busy.

Do your own parents put these kind of demands on you?

I don't understand why they request to see you so much? If they are of asian origin then it may be a cultural issue rather and you may need to compromise but if they are white British then I suspect they are just being awkward.

Oh gosh no, couldn't be doing with seeing them every week if i didn't have to. I do mostly cos of the kids but I don't think they'd care if I was there or not as long as they see their grand kids! You work all week and your weekend is your time. You see them plenty enough so just ignore and carry on as you are.

I'd be asking my husband to go there less and do some chores at home at the weekend !
