Hi all
I’m just under 12 weeks pregnant and looking for some reassurance hopefully! I woke in the night a few nights ago to an incredibly sharp pain from just under my ribcage when I stretched, I struggled to catch my breath. It went after a minute or so but since then I’ve had sharp twinges lower down in my pelvis and around both sides. From Google I think it was round ligament pain but I phoned my midwife who didn’t seem too concerned and I also saw my GP (for another reason) and he wasn’t too worried either. Since then the sharp pains aren’t as often but last night I had a really dull cramp/ache, almost like period pains. Has anyone else experienced
both types of pain? Other posts I’ve seen people seem to have one or the other. Could this also just be from the uterus stretching? If anyone has any similar experience would be really grateful to hear, thank you!
Hi,
It's normal to be concerned, I can tell you I've had both pains. I'm quite sensitive and feel everything and I'm a worrier! I'm 13+3 and still experiencing the dull period pains buy also the sharp almost like twanging feelings low down in my pelvis. I suffered with pelvic girdle pain in my first pregnancy, so I assume itl come again and the hip and pelvis pain may possibly be linked with that. X

Hi Becky
Thanks for your reply. Really reassuring to hear you’ve been experienced similar. I’m the same as you being super aware of my body and a worrier, this is my 2nd pregnancy after a miscarriage (at around 5 weeks) and every niggle has me worrying - it’s exhausting! Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy xx
